October Mist and Clean up for the Spirits

Ah! This morning was so beautiful. I awoke, as per usual, at around 8:30 to the sound of the rest of the house waking up. I retrieved my phone to see if I received any texts in the night and looking up I thought I was still dreaming for surrounding my house was a soft cottony mist. I was used to seeing mist whilst in the mountains camping so it was wonderful to see some mist in a town. I took the above picture with my camera phone, so excuse the horrible quality.

The Witch Chamber and Ritual Purification

So the other day my uncle and I cleaned out the basement to make it into a chamber for our workings. It looks absolutely amazing. We have a little cabinet that all of our magical supplies go into as well as various herbs and powders and such things that I make within circles. It will be absolutely perfect for the winter.

But I would like to talk about ritual purification whilst in a temple or chamber. For my personal practice I have always cleansed myself before a working. I have read that servants of Odin would wash their face and the back of the neck with cold water. Books on ceremonial magic have practitioners take a ritual bath before doing a ritual. In many traditions there is some sort of ritual cleansing and in my practice it is no different.

Compass Round or Ring of Art

How is it constructed? There are many answers to these questions and each of them from different practitioners. I am going to tell you my way and formula for creating the compass round or ring of art.
